| So it's come to my attention that I haven't updated my Xanga for a YEAR! (almost) Today, I'm going to ask the question that all guys seek once in their lives .. do nice guys really finish last? Really? Then the self realization of, oh my God/Buddha/Allah .. I'm a nice guy! So what makes being an NG (Nice Guy) such a terrible thing? Well ladies have a way of categorizing guys, correct me if im wrong ladies, you're either a friend (aka NG) or a potential (jerk, butthole, etc). There is no middle ground! Let's break it down: 1) Friend (aka NG) - once a guy enters this category, it is 99.99% impossible to escape from this zone. Also known as the zone of no return. You can have the most amazing personality, an optimistic outlook on life or just an absolute gentleman .. but women don't want you.
2) Potential (THAT guy) - you have something about you that is alluring to the young lady. Either you're extremely good looking, filthy rich or just something else that catches the girls attention.
Since I have time (even though I should be studying for finals) I'm going to make two seperate scenarios, one for guys and one for girls. Depending on what you feel like when your reading this today, please make the appropriate adjustments / agreements or disagreements. Ladies Scenario: He's the nice guy. You know, the one that is always there for you when you need someone to talk to. The one that is willing to tutor you when you need help. The one that has been there for you through thick and thin, from the time your boyfriend cheated on you - to the time your friends were all mad at you. He cares for you, he treats you good, he loves your family, he is honest and faithful - heck he even likes you, you can totally tell! But guess what, you don't like him. You tend to go for the jerks, bootyholes- the dangerous ones. You come to him when your hurt and when you need company. Why do you go for these guys even though you know its not right? It wont be long term. You wont be happy. When standing in front of you is a great guy? Gentlemens Scenario: She's the one. Through your eyes, she is an angel. A magnificant beauty! Her personality is amazing, she's very kind and caring. She has a brain and goals in life. She treats everyone around her with respect and she puts family first in life. She is always faithful, never cheats (even on math tests!), brains, beauty, personality - essentially the perfect girl. But guess what? She doesn't like you. She goes out with those buttholes, jerks, players, abusive guys .. but when she gets hurt and comes to you - you're always there. You really like her though, what's wrong with you? What do you do? Should you change? If you don't, she'll be someone elses eventually, date the wrong guy and come back to you when its over again .. Now, question to the ladies.. why? Gentlemen, should you change? Is it worth it? <-- Change / Stay the Same -->
(^ Sorry for cutting it short everyone, have to study for finals, haha! ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I hope ya`ll enjoyed another day, Only_at_james_dot_com Remember .. I can always make you smile.

| Haven't updated here in a while .. it seems the saying "life is like a box of chocolates" and "life is a roller coaster" grows truer and truer as this year is drawing to a close. Many things have changed since I last updated on this page .. 1) Gotten into my first automobile accident .. no not the typical 'oops' Asian driver mistake .. the 'OMFG YOU'RE GONNA KILL ME! AHH!' type accident .. T-Boned on my drivers side by some stupid old Asian guy .. yes, I'm hating on my own people .. er, scratch that, just him. Strike one of near death. 2) My friend(s) have gotten into the SAME type of accident .. one with the same as mine and the other WALKING and getting hit by a BUS .. I have to be frank, we're lucky S.O.B.s. Thank you God/Buddha/Allah/Greater Being who is watching over us. But the thing that most inspired me to write and update this page wasn't the fact that these random not cool near death experiences but the fact that a friend of mine recently had her fiance taken from her. The guy was still pretty young .. recent Masters degree graduate, getting life on track, fell ill and couldn't go visit his fiance one weekend .. his mother sensed something was wrong and wanted to send her husband to check on him but he waved it off .. the next day when he finally did go, he found the body of his son on the bed - still warm, but gone. Fluid in his lungs. Just goes to show, despite how young you are, how good or bad life is for you, our lives are so fragile, they can be snuffed out in an instant. What a shame .. didnt know him, but R.I.P. "LIFE IS SHORT - LIVE IT WELL." | | |
| Dear Xanga-ers, 'ello. Some of you might remember the old days when Xanga was referred to in a different term. Such terms were coined as: X-a (pronounced Ex-Ah), CraX (pronounced Crack-Xa), Xang-er (pronounced Xang-er) and Weed (pronounced .. half you guys do it anyway) . I'm pretty sure no one ever used these terms but me but I like to pretend everyone knew what the hell I was referring to when I was moaning about how soon it'd be overtaken by Myspace. Call me Nostradamus or Geez-US-AH .. or dont .. but damn was I right! (Finally) Well now that I have you on the verge of closing the page, shutting down your computer, turning off the monitor and walking far far farrrrrrr away (Star Wars totally jacked that from me ) .. I have come to realize that I really have no idea what sort of rambling and jambling I have to go on about in this update of mine except probably whats been new with me .. ready to do all of the above that I have 'predicted'? Good, I am too! Where to start .. I'm on year 4 of my military contract and going on 5 .. I'm planning on transferring to USC (keep your fingers crossed that I get in there .. cause then you'll have MORE stuff to read when you're bored out of your mind! ) .. I've helped a certain SOMEONE move to a county known only to those "non-Californians" (pronounced day-um owt-side folk) as the O.C. (that TV show with those half naked guys and gals) .. too many Asians there .. me no likey. In OTHER words .. boy have I got a story to tell YOU! .. er .. no no .. not you .. you in the front row .. NO NO to the LEFT .. no you're OTHER left .. man this is why military service should be compulsory .. so you can learn left from right .. keep going .. going .. almost there .. and .. STOP! YOU! The one with the 'double you tee eff' face! <-- *points and waves at you* Hiiii.
Ok so anyway .. I was at a certain University (whose campus shall be anonymous) and anyway right across the street from UCL .. oh crap, almost woops? Haha .. is this frat house ya see .. and I'm walking across the street and I look to my right and there's this guy who is walking toward me, waving and looks really pissed .. so I'm like, oh crap .. was there a "Do Not Walk On Grass" sign?! I stop and wait for this waving weirdo to come within shouting range and I hear him cursing a wide variety of things that I would SWEAR sounded like something in his native tongue (whatever that was). "Fluck fluck .. watshza timez mistur?" Ohh .. this guy is DRUNK. "It's 7AM man" He looks me up and down, his left eye staring at my face and his right eye at my leg (amazing!) "Ohshz mah GAWDZ! ISH ALMUST TIMEZ!" I'm looking puzzled and glancing at my watch every five seconds and back to this guy again. "Time for what man?" His jaw drops and he looks at me, mouth wide and eyes running all over the place. "CLASUH!!" .. "Come again?" He glares and waves his hands like he's being chased by someone, then screams "CLASUH! CLASUH STARDS AT 9!" .. I shake my head and start walking towards the sidewalk "Dont worry man, its only 7, you have 2 hours". Now heres where I start laughing in front of this guy, bad mistake? Keep in mind I'm walking on the grass - as soon as my foot touches the sidewalk and I start walking towards the (legal) crossing area with the lights, he starts yelling and 'ooh + ahh-ing' me like I did a magic trick .. to him and his overdosed alcohol filled mind, I did. "Howz yew DEWWWWW dath?!" o_O "Do what?" -_+ "Dishumpears!" Man .. he just told me I disappeared! But then again, that day I was wearing Army camo pants and a black shirt? ........ Welps I'm running out of steam to write this .. but how's THAT for a 'im back' entry? If you wanna know what happened after that or have something you'd like me to write about, leave me a comment and I'll be 'motivated' to write more, yea? Other than that, I'm out. Hope to write ya'll soon! Peace my fellow Xangaers! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I hope ya`ll enjoyed another day, Only_at_james_dot_com Remember .. I can always make you smile.

| Well well well .. the new year. A fresh start. A new blog. It's easy to say that the page trends (Xanga -> Myspace -> Facebook) are accurate. Xanga is slowly beginning to die and I am slowly beginning to lose time to be able to blog on here. Remember the good ol' days when Myspace was new and everyone was still Xangaing? (if that isn't a word in the dictionary then damnit, it should be!) Last year was one helluva journey. This year is gonna be no different. Good times, fun challenges and lotsa s-e-c-k-s .. not SEX .. but secks. It's a drink ..? O.o Anywho, this week (Feb 16 - 24) IS my measly one week "Spring" break and I am vying to make it memorable as by the time the real Spring break rolls around, my ass will be stuck in between two fat books attempting to study and the U.S. Army sliding their 50 foot pole between my buns. My plans are listed below (gotta hit at LEAST 50%): 2/16 - Todai with my class (check) 2/17 - Road trip to San Fran =/ 2/18 - Hiking in mountains on Condor Peak trail, 8 hour hike (CHECK!) 2/19 - Botanical Gardens in Arcadia (check) 2/20 - Drive up to Northridge 2/21 - Bonfire at Huntington Beach 2/22 - Kickback at friends house I'm still working on the 23 and 24 but yeah .. not bad for a week, eh? So what's new with everyone else? Hope you all are doing good! Let's jump start Xanga again! .. just .. not like some freak Frankenstein thing .. blah .. running low on motivation juice .. someone give me some uplifting motivation speech or something por favor! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I hope ya`ll enjoyed another day, Only_at_james_dot_com Remember .. I can always make you smile.

| As the title suggests, I am doing last minute Christmas shopping .. no not for those who I intended to buy gifts for .. but for the little nieces and nephews who have wayyyy more gifts than they need but your parents and other family members insist you buy them more. Thus, my question - what DO kids want for Christmas? Well, given that I am in an Asian family, it's a sure fact that they have some type of electronic device (i.e., the last Wii from all the major outlets in the city, the last PS3, XBox360, etc.) , they're sure to have some (if not all) kinds of brand name clothing that range from Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, Polo, etc. - so what gift can I give them that they are sure to not get from anyone else? The answer? Books. As soon as I realized the magic word that little kids dread and that your wallet smiles about (because it prefers buying cheap ass books over expensive, overpriced electronics that result in blood loss, lack of adequate sleep and excessive yelling, cursing and threats to some older shopper over the last gaming system), I knew I had to find a good book. That's where Amazon, EBay and the Internet in general came into play. It took me a few hours of shopping but I got all my little nieces and nephews fun (if not educational) books for their reading ages. Total spent? Only $54.97 (including shipping and handling). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So remember ladies and gents, if you need to buy a gift or need an idea for your little nieces and nephews, you can't go wrong with books. It shows your family that you're thinking about their kids education, it's easy on your wallet (or purse for you ladies out there), the kids love'em and you can always have fun finding them. Merry Christmas everyone and have a Happy New Year!!! Don't drink and drive - you might spill it and please drink responsibly - save some for ther rest of us. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And I hope ya`ll enjoyed another day, Only_at_james_dot_com Remember .. I can always make you smile.
